4 tips to keep your indoor plants healthy

We all know there are many varieties of plants, distinctively pretty, but not all of them are suitable to put indoors. There are some occasions when you have a plant that just looks perfect to put in the corner of your wall or on your bookshelf,  however, after a few weeks, you might notice a different look in it, probably a bit yellow, or sometimes even sick and faded.

I have gone through every one of these situations, making dozens of incomparable mistakes, it all makes me understand the plant type, and what its factors are to grow healthy and happy.

You often might have come across the statement "it's perfect in a bright area" or "it grows well in bright areas that don't have direct sunlight", this is told because the main element in a plant's photosynthesis is to have light, and light is food for them which makes there leaves not droop. - but let's be honest. Do all of us have 'bright homes? Well... No. I have seen these common statements told, while it deflates my instinct to even put a plant in my home because I don't know whether it has the 'exact' amount of proper sunlight...

That's why in this post I'm here to walk you through 4 tips that have perfectly worked for me to keep my indoor plants healthy, from having the perfect amount of water, preventing root rot, to managing the exact time your plants need to have daily sunlight.

My arrowhead vine has become healthy due to these tips.

1. Make a  timetable

You might have 5 or 50 plants, each of them needing special care, which is very important- but how are we able to see to each one of them, checking the soil if it needs water, leaves needing sunlight, and the rest?

The brilliant idea of a timetable.

This has worked for me ever since these questions came to my mind, it has made my loads of plants feel wanted and healthy.

How do I make one?

I personally made mine according to the days of the week. How you are supposed to make your timetable is to separate each and every one of your plants into chunks. Chunks by category, for example, Mondays - air purifiers, Tuesday - aloes... etc.

This will make you prioritize your plant's attention, a load of plants on that specific day must be carried out and given water,(but remember that you should not neglect a plant if its soil is dry even if you are following a schedule, the plant will get too dry which is bad for it.) and when they are out they will obtain sunlight. You also must make it a point to talk to your plant daily or even the days in which they are supposed to be given attention.

This method is working very well for me, and I hope it does for you too. I have clearly noticed the differences in healthiness from my plants, they have improved once I started this, but attention please - this won't work for plant parents who are way too sympathetic towards their plant, they will continue to water their plants 50 times a day, so don't try introducing this to any of them!

2. Attaining humidity

Most of our plant companions need humidity to stay happy, it creates more of a natural environment for them. Humidity is the warmness for them, they don't like cooling things unlike us because it freezes their cells, which causes them to die.

You mustn't put air conditioners or coolers near plants, they are uncomfortable with that because it can cause pests that love dry and un moist environments. Spray bottles and cans really do the job. Try spraying at least every other day to your plants, some plants such as spider plants, really appreciate this kind of daily or often 'treatment' to grow healthy.

3. Cleaning leaves

Sometimes cobwebs find your plants as remarkable homes. We don't like this because it invites pests such as spider mites- so my advice is to wash your plant leaves with running water or preferably with a damp cloth every three weeks if you have absolutely no dust in your home, but if your home is a dust ball, then you could adjust the timings!

4. Give nutrition

If you notice yellowing or any unhealthy differences, try some remedies online for plants, but if nothing works, the best solution to a dying plant is to repot it giving new soil. Always remember we don't want unhealthy soil without any nutrition, so try to add fertilizer to your pots so that the soil is packed with the proper properties for your plant.

I hope that  I helped you with your problems, if you spot any mistake in my wording or information, please give me feedback, since this is my very first post, I'll really appreciate it. 😊😘
